Pastor David Pruden was saved later in life - in his late 20’s. He began to grow spiritually and found himself at Meadowlands Baptist Church of Edmonton. He continued to grow spiritually and eventually, he began to serve faithfully as a deacon there for many years. He felt God’s call to ministry in his heart and under the mentorship of Pastor Jim Tillotson, he began planning to work with Meadowlands Baptist Church as an Assistant Pastor. But God had other plans. When Lighthouse Baptist Church was without a pastor, he along with other men from Meadowlands, began to fill their pulpit just to help out. Having already discerned God's will for him to enter full-time ministry, Pastor Pruden accepted the call from Lighthouse to come on as their senior pastor in June of 2005.
Pastor David loves spending time with his wife and boys, and enjoys such hobbies as riding his Suzuki M109 motorcycle, golfing, and drinking Chai Latte’s from Starbucks. Pastor David is a people person through and through and loves spending time with the people of our church family whether its in counselling or in fellowship.
UPDATE (Sept. 2011): Pastor Pruden resigned his position as senior pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church in July of 2011. He explained the many works God has been doing in his life over the past year in a heartfelt message that made his love for us plainly obvious. He is seeking the Lord for an opportunity to be involved in either planting a new ministry or helping another man to plant a new ministry. He feels as though God has led him to realign his life in accordance with areas where he is most gifted and can use his people skills and administrational skills to get a new ministry up and running. While it is never easy to lose a senior pastor that you love dearly, Pastor Pruden has made this process much easier than how these situations are traditionally handled. He was open and honest with the church family about how God is leading in his heart. But at the same time, he expressed a commitment to the church to stay and care for us as long as possible in order to see us transitioned into the hands of another pastor smoothly and in a way that glorifies God. So often, ministries are left to suffer through a transition time without clear and firm leadership. For now, Pastor Pruden is still with us, leading us, and ministering to us while seeking the Lord’s will for what to do next. Please pray for us and our pulpit committee as we seek out a man that fits God’s will for this ministry.

While finishing his final year at Northland Baptist Bible College (now Northland International University) in 2006, Pastor Kevin Burrill was introduced to David Pruden, a pastor from Edmonton. Pastor Burrill was planning on doing an internship with Meadowlands Baptist Church in Edmonton already, but plans were changed when the need at Lighthouse was introduced to him. At the suggestion of both the pastor of Meadowlands and pastor Pruden, he agreed to intern at Lighthouse instead. Throughout that summer, God made it clear that Lighthouse was going to be his starting place in full-time ministry. After marrying Heather Hobbes at the end of the summer, he returned as a "permanent intern." Then, after serving as intern for some time, on July 4th, 2007 the church voted to bring him on as a part-time Assistant Pastor. As the church grew they were able to bring him on full-time in December of 2008.
Pastor Kevin loves spending time with His lovely wife Heather and his sons, Judah and Levi. Pastor Kevin is an artist-at-heart and loves writing music, cantatas, and dramas for use in the ministry. He also enjoys designing publications and serving behind the scenes. Pretty much anything that involves creativity gets him excited. He particularly enjoys spending time with the young men in the church, and the Youth, College, and Career and investing in their lives by teaching them to live in God’s Word daily.
