Lighthouse Baptist Church (and the Western Canada Baptist Fellowship) are exceedingly grateful for the Ministry of Grand View Camp to our children and teens. Grand View Camp was started as Camp on Wheels by a man named Pastor Randy Wilson - a former church planter in northeastern Arizona. Pastor Randy received a burden from the Lord to plant a Bible Camp in western Canada. But while waiting to fill his position at the church in Arizona and seeking the Lord’s direction, the idea was presented to him to start a camp in Arizona’s White Mountains, and then take it on the road to western Canada each summer too. With the close of the Wild’s of the Rockies - a large Bible camp in Colorado, and with a large financial donation to make it all possible, Camp on Wheels was founded. Now, with a new facility almost complete in Arizona, Camp on Wheels has restructured itself as Grand View Camp. Each summer, much of the staff piles their belongings into the trailers and a convoy of counsellors, operational staff, and administration drive for 3 days to arrive in Alberta. Make no mistake, it takes a lot of work, dedication, and comitment for them to come and put on our camp programs for us and we are very, very thankful.

As a result of their ministry, we have seen many children and teens turn their lives over to Christ, make it through major life hurdles, and get back on track after wandering away from the Lord. It is always a great joy to see the way God’s Word and His Spirit work through the staff and the guest speakers to reach into the heart of kids and teens alike.

Grand View draws its temporary summer staff from affiliated Bible Colleges in the USA and Canada. Not only that, each staff member is placed through the camp’s week-long training program at the beginning of each summer to teach them how to shepherd the hearts of young children and teens.
